New Members always welcomed!

An introduction from the founding Chairman Mr Pete Hodd ADI

A very warm welcome to everyone visiting the website of:

If you look at the country as a whole, Eastbourne is one of the only places that did not have a Driving Instructors Association.  It was with this in mind that myself and other likeminded instructors decided it was about time that we did.

After consultation, it was decided that the name for us should be EDDIA.
We organised our first meeting and 10 instructors came along. We laid before them the aims of the association. Our second meeting was attended by 20 instructors and our third by 30. This began to show us that there were instructors out there that do think we should be represented as a consolidated group.

The over riding factor to emerge from all meetings was the that quality of instruction within the ADI fraternity is somewhat lacking in certain areas. It was with this in mind that we agreed to work to a code of practice within the association that all members had to agree and sign. Giving 100% quality training at all times for all students learning through the association route, A value for money approach. All of our full Members are fully qualified ADI's. PDI's (trainee instructors) can join as Associated Members until they qualify.
This being an assurance for anyone learning with an EDDIA Member will be given a fully qualified DSA registered instructor. Vehicles will be modern, clean, tidy and presentable.  Instructors will not smoke in the vehicle whilst teaching. Lessons will be on time all the time and if problems arise, the instructor will telephone the student and let them know.

Within the association, we have both male and female instructors. We have an instructor to cover most vehicle disciplines, manual and automatic. We offer Pass Plus, Taxi training, and Intensive courses.

All members within the association will clearly display their Full Membership on their vehicle.

This being an assurance that they have agreed to abide by the EDDIA code of conduct for quality of teaching.

Our over riding aim is to give the pupil the very best instruction around, and to make their learning experience an enjoyable and safe one.
